The SSC-1 was designed to connect directly on the end of Abbess Instruments' Bi-direclional Transfer line. It may also be configured with Abbess Instruments' controllable cryogen delivery system ( LTSS) and Abbess Instruments' Instrument Support module (OP-3). The complete system as above, allows computer or manual control of sequenced cooling of the cryostats' cold finger

Removable/adjustable vacuum jacket with sensor window and thermal radiation shields provide easy access to the sensor mounting points and cold finger.

Replaceable cold fingers are normally made of quartz for maintaining low thermal gradients and good mechanical stability. cold finger is located within two removable, coil foil thermal radiation shields.

Cold finger will accommodate 4 sensors, each up to .25" square X .1 25" high. Other sizes or custom cold fingers are optional.
